WHO IS NAYA JOHNSON ?

Naya Johnson is a May 2025 graduate who was a journalism major at Hampton University and the 2024–2025 Senior Class President, known for her steadfast commitment to advocacy, leadership, and student empowerment. As an aspiring entertainment attorney, she has consistently leveraged her campus roles and professional experiences to champion equity, amplify student voices, and foster community engagement.

At Hampton, she has held elected positions in the Class Office every year since her sophomore year—culminating in her presidency—where she has led campus-wide initiatives to unite the senior class, advocated on behalf of students in university forums, and curated impactful programming that reflects the spirit and excellence of Hampton University. Her leadership also extends through her role as Miss Guide Right for the Beta Chi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where she mentors young men in the Junior Kappa League, promoting character and leadership development.

She is also a dedicated student leader in the prestigious Greer Dawson Wilson Student Leadership Training Program, where she helps organize university events and supports peer development. As an advocate, she has been active in Generation Action at HamptonU, engaging students in reproductive justice education and civic awareness.

Outside the classroom, her commitment to social impact has continued through high-profile internships. As a Digital Marketing Intern with Diamond Diaspora Media (Atlanta Black Star), she supported content creation and campaign strategies that centered Black culture and storytelling. As an HBCU Summit Fellow with Abercrombie & Fitch Co., she contributed to inclusive marketing efforts and DEI initiatives, bringing forward the perspectives of underrepresented communities.

She will begin her legal education at Georgia State University College of Law in Fall 2026, where she plans to continue her mission of driving systemic change and advocating for marginalized communities in the media aspect.
