For my JAC 340 course, I created a B-roll project focused on capturing natural moments around Hampton University's campus. The footage showcased movement, composition, and storytelling through visuals alone using no voiceovers or interviews. This project allowed me to develop my eye for detail, pacing, and smooth camera work while highlighting the atmosphere of student life.
For my first project in the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications, I created a multimedia feature exploring Gen Z relationships. It combined student interviews, written stories, and comedic elements like memes and viral clips to show the real, funny, and sometimes chaotic sides of modern love and friendship.
"Construction Package" is a news segment I produced, shot, and edited for my JAC340 course. This piece focuses on ongoing construction developments and their impact on Hampton University’s Campus. I took the lead on all aspects of production—from researching and scripting to capturing footage and editing—demonstrating my ability to tell compelling, timely stories through a journalistic lens.
"Student Mental Health Package"
This news segment was created for my JAC340 class to shed light on the growing concerns surrounding student mental health. I curated, shot, and edited the entire piece, focusing on the real experiences and challenges students face in balancing academic pressure and mental well-being. Through thoughtful interviews and impactful visuals, I aimed to inform and start a meaningful conversation on campus wellness.
"Camryn Harris Package"
Produced for my JAC340 course, this package spotlights Camryn Harris, our former Junior Parliamentarian, and her impactful role in student leadership. I handled every stage of production—from pre-interview research and filming to editing—crafting a narrative that highlights her accomplishments, advocacy, and presence in student government. This segment reflects my ability to tell personal, inspiring stories through a journalistic lens.
"Weather Package" is a broadcast segment I curated, shot, and edited as part of my JAC340 course. This project showcases my ability to blend visual storytelling with journalistic clarity, delivering an engaging and informative weather report. From concept to final cut, I handled every aspect of production, demonstrating my skills in reporting, camera work, and post-production editing.
